Unison Solar (formerly LB Energy Partners) has implemented rooftop solar implementations for commercial property Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT) such as Equity One and Regency Centers. Unison Solar specializes in working with commercial property owners and Real Estate Investment Trusts to develop solar projects for their unique tax structures and business models.

A solar system is an investment in a property like any other investment in development of an out-parcel, redevelopment of a property, or installation of core infrastructure equipment. Returns are stable, low-risk, and predictable. Revenues from the system are contractually agreed to with tenants and the utilities. A portion of the cost is covered by federal and state rebates. Systems have a payback period of 6-8 years and then operate for decades at minimal cost. Photovoltaic panels are a proven technology that has been around since the 1970s. They come with a 25 year warranty and an expected lifetime of 35-40 years.
